A short story that deals with the family relationship of this urban African-American family. Anthony has the opportunity to be the first in his family to graduate from college, however he must sacrifice being hundreds of miles away from his sick mother. His younger sister, Camille, puts her life on hold to care for their sick mother as well as their younger brother Ronnie, who craves for Anthonys respect and acceptance. They each deal with their mothers death in their own way, unable to connect or support each other until Camille takes the initiative to bring the family back together to commemorate the tenth anniversary of their mothers death.
